NEMMCO Industry Conference
Wednesday 15th October 2008 (in Sydney)

We are proud to be the sponsor for this event, which is described on the conference website:

www.nemmcoconference.com

This half-day conference in Sydney is timed to follow the 2-day Annual Conference of the Association of Power Exchanges (APEx), with which we will also be involved.

A number of the international representatives of foreign power exchanges (APEx members) have agreed, while in Australia, to discuss the developments in their markets and/or the integration of gas and electricity markets as experienced in their own regions.

Given the likely introduction of Australia's Carbon Pollution Reduction Scheme (CPRS), it seems likely that the scope for gas-fired generation in the NEM will increase significantly, at least through 2020. This will put greater strains on gas supplies to the NEM, and make the interaction between gas and electricity markets more important.

Hence, we see this as a valuable opportunity for interested parties within Australia to learn, first hand, of critical industry developments across the world.

HOW ARE WE PARTICIPATING?

We have agreed to be the sponsor for this half-day event.

During this conference, we will be pleased to provide delegates with a view of how the NEM is operating, on the day, through our popular NEM-WatchTM package.

Furthermore, delegates to this half-day event will also:

1)   Be treated with the first glimpses of the next version of NEM-Watch (version 8), which is nearing final development; and

2)   Be able to participate in our exclusive offer (details available on the day).

WHY ARE WE PARTICIPATING?

Our company was established in 2000 to make the electricity market understandable, to a wide range of people (not just the direct wholesale market participants).  We see this as the way we can assist in ensuring that the competitive market delivers the benefits promised to all of us, by enabling everyone to play their part.

In this way, our objectives are somewhat aligned with those of APEx.

As such, we are pleased to be able to sponsor this event - which will provide a rare opportunity for people associated with Australia's energy market to hear directly from those responsible for the operation of electricity markets in Europe, Asia, North & South America.
