Annual Conference of the Energy User's Association of Australia
Tuesday 28th and Wednesday 29th October 2008 (in Melbourne)

As we have for many years previous, we will be involved with the EUAA's annual conference, which is described here:

Information about the EUAA Annual Conference

We see that the EUAA Annual Conference is one of the best opportunities, each year, for large energy users to gather together to learn about, and discuss, common issues relating to energy supplies throughout Australia.  Similarly, it is an effective opportunity for those who support the business of EUAA members (such as ourselves) to learn more of these issues.

HOW ARE WE PARTICIPATING?

During this conference, we will be pleased to provide a demonstration of our deSide ® software package, which is being used by an increasing number of large energy users (EUAA members, and others) to assist in lowering their costs of electricity.

We'll also be attending all the sessions of the conference to learn more about other issues of interest to energy users from a number of informative speakers.

Finally, we will be participating in the Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the EUAA (to be held on Tuesday 28th October), as we are pleased to be an Affiliate Member.

WHY ARE WE PARTICIPATING?

Our company was established in 2000 to make the electricity market understandable, to a wide range of people (not just the direct wholesale market participants).

In particular, we are keen to ensure that large energy users have access to clear, convenient and cost-effective information about the National Electricity Market (NEM), as we see that having informed and active demand side participation is a core prerequisite to having a long-term sustainable, and effective, electricity market.

As such, we've been active for many years in assisting large energy users who have the physical ability to curtail load at times of peak pricing to secure the benefits that this flexibility can provide.  Similarly, the EUAA (of which we are an Affiliate Member) has provided increased advocacy of this important possibility.

Since we began our business in 2000, we've been pleased to see an increased awareness, acceptance and capturing of this possibility.

Our involvement in the EUAA's Annual Conference of 2008 is one more step in this process.
