The Clean Energy Council
We've been pleased to be a Member of the Clean Energy Council (CEC) since its formation, and the Business Council for Sustainable Energy (BCSE) beforehand.
WHAT IS THE CLEAN ENERGY COUNCIL?
The Clean Energy Council is the peak organisation representing the clean energy industry.
It was formed through the amalgamation of the Australian Business Council for Sustainable Energy (BCSE) and the Australian Wind Energy Association (Auswind).
The Clean Energy Council is a member-based industry association that represents businesses ready to innovate, invest and (most importantly) act, to safely and reliably meet Australia's energy needs while lowering greenhouse emissions.
The Council's 400 member organisations cover a quarter of Australia's total electricity production - a broad spectrum of organisations involved in renewable energy, gas, energy efficiency, distributed energy and greenhouse abatement markets more generally.

WHY ARE WE A MEMBER?
Our company was established in 2000 to make the electricity market understandable, to a wide range of people (not just the direct wholesale market participants). We've done this through a range of software products that are widely used across Australia's National Electricity Market (NEM), and elsewhere.
We are a technology neutral company. By this we mean that, no matter what the technologies contributing to electricity supplies in the NEM, we want to see these technologies contributing with the greatest economic efficiency. What's more, we're keen to see information about the market widely available and understandable so that the best technologies can be supplied to meet Australia's growing/changing demand shape.
Since 2000, we've been pleased to have a number of organisations (who are now members of the Council) as clients:
1) From our early days, we had a wide range of generators (and others) use our NEM-Watch software to provide themselves a clear view of the way the NEM has been operating, and our NEM-Review software for historical analysis;
2) Since the first release of our deSide software in 2004, we've had a growing number of energy users, and aggregators, utilise this tool to deliver demand side response.
